Fall Festival

We will be having a fall fesitval on the evening of October 28, 2010. Festivies will be in the park.

For more details please see our new website at www.foxchaseonemeraldlake.com.

Unfortunately, I will be unable to attend, due to a work commitment. We will be having a annual meeting before the end of the year. When we select a date, I will let everyone know.

Scott,

I was wondering why the lake level is so low. I know we have been experiencing a dry year but it has dropped immediately after we have rain and is currently as low as I have ever seen it except for when it was dropped intentionally.

Who is regulating the flow at the dam?

Thanks,

John Sweatman

John,

Under normal operation, the primary and secondary spillways on the dam are self-regulating based on the water level (see explanation of dam operation at http://www.foxchaseonemeraldlake.com/1973/6201.html).

The rapid fall in the lake level is a combined result of our significant rainfall deficit (water table is well below average) and higher than normal temperatures. Unfortunately, NOAA predicts our area's extreme drought conditions will persist or get worse in the months ahead.

Olen Donaldson is taking over as Lake Committee Chairman. He is actively researching some concerns, such as sediment in the Chewacla inlet, that have been raised at FRA meetings.

Has the association been done away with? There was NO meeting in 2011 and the only contact has been for the annual dues(which were increased with no explanation or reason). Covenants are not being enforced(maybe only some are enforced)People are working on cars left on driveway and some are parking on front and back lawns. Many utility trailers are in back yards.
